Storing garlic is a real problem for many housewives. This vegetable, when kept on the shelves of kitchen cabinets or in the refrigerator for a long time, falls into two extremes. Due to improper storage, garlic cloves can darken and dry out or, conversely, become covered with mold.

In order to preserve the freshness of garlic for a long time, clever housewives have come up with an effective method.

The vegetables should be placed in a small container, the bottom of which must first be poured with a thick layer of coarse salt. The garlic must also be sprinkled with a large amount of salt on top.

It is known that this product is able to absorb excess moisture. The salt will take on the role of a preservative, thanks to which the garlic will remain fresh for a long time.

The salt-filled jars of garlic should be covered on top with paper or cloth napkins.

Glass containers with useful contents can be safely stored in a dry, dark place.
