German scientists have found out what determines life expectancy

German scientists have tried to find out what factors affect life expectancy. Experts have concluded that the type of work before retirement is of fundamental importance in this regard.
According to researchers from Germany, a person who has performed hard physical work for decades ages faster, unlike a middle-class official.
This trend comes from a recent study by the Institute for Work and Qualifications (IAQ) at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The scientific work examined the relationship between professional activity and life expectancy.
As the analysis showed, the stresses during working life and the number of professional years affect this factor in the long term. This also includes the level of education.
“Apparently, people with higher education are often found in higher income positions and probably also have more acceptable working conditions. Those people who, on the contrary, were exposed to very high loads die earlier. People who assess their health as poor or have disabilities also have a lower life expectancy. Thus, reducing the workload remains the main goal,” the scientists believe.
It is worth noting that earlier studies have shown that men with the highest level of education live on average four years longer than men with a low level. On the other hand, no such connection is observed in women. In any case, their life expectancy is longer.
