Giving up animal products seriously reduces the risk of early death

According to new research according to data, the rejection of animal products can become one of the recipes for achieving longevity, as it effectively reduces the risk of premature death.

A group of researchers from several universities in Spain concluded that reducing the amount of meat and other animal products in the diet can reduce the risk of early death from various conditions by 30 percent.

According to experts, the daily diet plays a very large role role in people's health and well-being. It is well known that the appearance of various diseases is facilitated by an unbalanced diet devoid of many vitamins and nutrients needed by the body. The work of scientists has shown that the use of products of animal origin can affect life expectancy.

“Reducing the amount of animal products in the diet and switching to a more plant-based diet can reduce the risk of death from a number of conditions and diseases by 30 percent,” the researchers said.

As part of the project, they studied data from more than 7,000 people with a high risk of cardiovascular disease. Experts analyzed changes in their health over a five-year observation period. During this time, 323 deaths occurred among the participants: 76 from cardiovascular causes, 130 from cancer and 117 from non-cancer, non-cardiovascular causes. Scientists found that the tendency to die early among people who ate a lot of plant-based foods, without being vegetarians, was significantly lower. While among avid meat eaters and other lovers of animal food, the risk of such death, on the contrary, increased significantly.

In particular, experts stated that among omnivorous study subjects with a high risk of cardiovascular disease, “a diet that emphasized plant-based foods was associated with a reduced risk of mortality from all causes.”
