The research team set out to observe the effects of this fruit-vegetable duo on obesity in rats. The study used two drinks: one was a pure cabbage and apple cocktail, and the other was fermented with the probiotic strain Lactobacillus Plantarum EM, isolated from kimchi.

“Animal models were given 10 milliliters of one of these drinks per kilogram of body weight. After following this diet for eight weeks, the research team observed that both juices were effective in regulating body and liver weight, including visceral fat. But the fermented version showed “a more significant anti-obesity effect.”
