Habits that destroy the heart have become known

Smoking is a bad habit that destroys your heart, said a cardiologist.

According to her, nicotine and other chemicals contained in cigarettes increase the likelihood of developing lung, heart, and vascular diseases.

In addition, poor nutrition has a negative effect on the heart. For example, excessive consumption of saturated fats and sugar leads to increased blood cholesterol levels and the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, the doctor noted.

She added that a sedentary lifestyle also harms the heart and leads to the development of diabetes.

Another “killer” of the heart is alcohol. Excessive alcohol consumption contributes to increased blood pressure, damage to the myocardium and leads to alcoholic cardiomyopathy, the doctor explained.

She also advised to exercise less, as this increases the level of adrenaline and cortisol in the blood, which can ultimately lead to hypertension and the development of heart disease.
