- Salt – to taste
- Dry spices (for fish) to taste
- 1 bay leaf
Preparation:
Prepare the necessary ingredients. If the fish is not battered, cut open the belly, remove the entrails. Cut off the head, tail and fins. Clean the fish from the scales, remove the black film from the belly. Wash and dry the hake thoroughly. Sour cream can be of any fat content. Take vegetable oil without smell.
Cut the prepared fish into portions. Salt, add spices or seasonings to taste and mix. Leave the fish for 20 minutes so that it permeates the aroma of spices.
Wash the pre-peeled onion, cut it into half rings.
Peel and wash the carrot. Cut the carrot into thin strips. Keep in mind that the way you chop the carrots will determine how they look in the finished dish. Grated carrots will lose their shape during heat treatment and will gradually mix with other ingredients. Therefore, it is better to cut the vegetable into strips or cubes.
In a frying pan with the addition of oil, fry the onion while stirring for 3-4 minutes.
Add carrots to onions. Fry the vegetables over moderate heat until soft. Remove the pan from the heat.
Bring the pieces of hake in flour. This can be done on a plate or in a bag. Pour flour into a bag, put pieces of fish in the bag. Close the package and shake well. The pieces of fish will gradually be covered with flour.
Heat the oil in a pan. Put the pieces of hake on the pan. Fry the hake on one side until golden brown.
Turn the fish over and brown it on the other side in the same way.
Add warm water to the sour cream, mix well.
Pour the diluted sour cream into the pan with the vegetables, mix. Bring the sauce to a boil, add salt.
Put pieces of fried hake in the sour cream with vegetables. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the fish in sour cream over low heat for 5 minutes.
If cooking is necessary, turn the pieces of fish to the other side. Wash the bay leaf, add it to the fish and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve stewed hake in sour cream with onions with any side dish: potatoes, rice, vegetables.
