Harmful health effects of eating almonds have been identified

How can almonds, which seem super healthy at first glance, harm your health?

Almonds are often called one of the healthiest nuts – they are rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, protein and fiber, help regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and normalize blood pressure. But almond lovers should know: eating this nut can have negative effects – especially when eaten in excess (30-35 grams per day).

What can happen?

Digestive problems. If you do not follow the dietary guidelines, almonds can cause constipation, bloating and indigestion – this is due to their high fiber content.

Reduced nutrient absorption.Many people know that fiber is very important for health. But a large number of products containing it (almonds are the champion in this regard) interfere with the absorption of nutrients, including magnesium, calcium, zinc, and others. Overdoing fiber is harmful, it prevents the absorption of trace elements into the blood, binds them and removes them from the body with stool.

Weight gain. Almonds are rich in fat and calories: 100 g of nuts provide 50 g of fat. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle, an addiction to almonds can harm your health, increasing the risk of fat deposition.

Allergy. Almonds sometimes cause oral allergy syndrome, which causes a sore throat, itching around the mouth, and swelling of the tongue and lips. Additionally, nuts can cause an allergic reaction called anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition.

Kidney stones. Almonds are rich in oxalates, a natural compound found in plants. If oxalates enter the body in large amounts, they can lead to the formation of stones and even kidney failure.
