If the weather outside the window is not pleasant at all, this is a great opportunity to stay at home and organize a movie marathon, for which it was impossible to find time. Watching movies always makes you want to munch on something delicious. Classic “movie snacks” such as popcorn or chips are, of course, ideal for such an occasion, but if you indulge in them, there is a risk of gaining weight very quickly – and then all the efforts to prepare for the summer season will go to waste. We tell you how to replace unhealthy snacks in order to watch movies with pleasure and without harming your figure.
One of the tastiest and most useful solutions will be hummus. Aromatic chickpea paste can be found in the store or prepared by yourself – the second option is better, since store-bought hummus often contains a lot of sugar and harmful preservatives. Be sure to serve hummus with straws made of fresh vegetables – carrots, celery, mini croutons made of whole grain bread are especially good. Thanks to the high content of vegetable protein and healthy fatty acids, such food will provide you with a feeling of fullness for a long time and will not harm your figure.
If the soul still asks for something more similar to popcorn, prepare its healthy alternative from the same chickpeas . To do this, you will need to fry chickpeas (canned or pre-soaked) in a drop of oil with the addition of your favorite spices. The result will be a fragrant, crunchy snack, but without excess carbohydrates.
Another good option is nuts and seeds (it is better to choose pistachios, almonds and walnuts from nuts , and from seeds – pumpkin). This is a healthy snack, rich in vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and vegetable protein. However, you should not forget about their high calorie content: nuts are undoubtedly more useful than chips, but you should not get carried away with them either.
Fruits are ideal for lovers of sweets as a movie snack. You can make a salad from them, cut a nice fruit assortment or go further and make your own homemade ice cream sorbet. For this, you will need your favorite fruits and berries, a blender and a freezer – you can add lemon juice, cinnamon or nutmeg. Such a dessert does not contain added sugar and fats at all, and it is as pleasant to eat as a filling.
