Heart attack: Certain facial features may hint that you are in danger

A heart attack, medically called a myocardial infarction, can cause sudden chest compressions, leaving little room for treatment. In isolated cases, warning signs may appear several months before the attack. Experts say those who want to know whether they are at risk can look to facial features for clues.

In early research, scientists have found a link between a variety of facial features and an increased risk of heart problems. The findings suggest that baldness, cholesterol deposits on the eyelids and in the crevices of the earlobes may indicate a risk of cardiovascular disease.

The data showed that among participants who had three out of four of these signs , 57 percent suffered from heart disease.

It has been noted that people with facial cholesterol deposits may suffer from corneal arcus, when cholesterol deposits change the color of the eye, a cloudy white, gray or blue opaque ring appears on the outer edges of the cornea.

However, telling features face were cholesterol deposits on the eyelids and male pattern baldness.

Medical director of Oliolusso Monica Wassermann commented:

“Some baldness, baldness, folds on the earlobes, increased baldness and cholesterol deposits on the face may indicate that you are at higher risk of heart disease such as stroke and heart attack. Although there is no clear evidence linking each trait to an increased risk of heart disease, most studies suggest that these traits may be caused by inherited genes or changes in the body's hormones.”
