High blood pressure (hypertension) leads to a person's ill health. It can signal possible cardiovascular diseases. The specialist named a fruit that helps reduce pressure.
It turned out that the useful substances contained in plums strengthen the walls of blood vessels, in addition, in some cases, they help reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke – these are the diseases that hypertensives are most at risk, said nutritionist Mykhailo Ginzburg.
The specialist noted that plums have a moderate diuretic effect. This allows the body to get rid of excess fluid. In turn, this causes a decrease in blood pressure.
One of the main advantages of a plum is its low calorie content. If you make jam from it, all the useful properties of the fruit will be reduced to almost zero. The fruit can be dried or made into a paste, the expert advises. The main thing, according to Ginzburg, is not to add sugar, as there are all the necessary ingredients for the taste in the juice.
