An excessive level of cholesterol in the blood is dangerous due to the increased risk of developing atherosclerosis, which in turn increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Charlotte Norton told how you need to change your diet to prevent dire consequences. In particular, five products should be excluded from your regular menu:
- whole milk;
- butter;
- red and processed meat;
- fried food;
- cheese.
Fatty, processed meat and cheese with a high fat content are among the most “popular” products to raise cholesterol.
Dr. Norton emphasizes that saturated fat should be avoided in general. But foods with unsaturated fats can be beneficial.
“Foods high in unsaturated fats, such as salmon, almonds, avocados, and seeds, have the opposite effect, lowering cholesterol,” Dr. Norton emphasizes.< /p>
