How a man's brain changes when he becomes a father

Currently, there is still very little research related to the impact of fatherhood on men. In a recent scientific study, experts found out whether a man's body and brain change when he has a child.
Existing scientific works show that the brain of a pregnant woman is very different from the brain of a woman without children. These changes are visible throughout the brain in the gray matter.
Pregnancy is thought to affect the cerebral cortex, including areas responsible for thinking about other people's minds, as well as the subordination of the brain (this part of the brain is associated with motivation and emotions).
But what about fathers? More and more studies show that the brains of young fathers who care for a newborn also change, become plastic.
The MRI results showed that in men who became fathers, compared to childless men, the brains changed significantly. In both people from Spain and people from the United States, these changes concerned areas of the cerebral cortex that are associated with visual information processing, attention, and empathy for the child.
However, it must be said that these changes in the brain were almost half as intense as the changes that occurred in the mothers' brains.
