How and what to feed peonies in the spring so that they bloom long and “luxuriantly”

Proper care for peonies involves three key stages: care for soil, watering and feeding. The first two points may not raise questions, but you should know something about nutrition. The soil is prepared when young shoots appear, after which the soil is loosened and a watering hole is made.

Details

It is worth noting that it is better not to carry out top dressing without preliminary watering. An exception can be only rainy weather.

Feeding is carried out simultaneously with watering, and if the weather was dry on the day of this procedure, then you need to pour 1-2 buckets of water under one bush.

Feed the flowers only after all the moisture is gone.

How to feed

For this, you can use a complex fertilizer, in which the main part belongs to nitrogen.

No less it will be useful to feed with nitroammofoska (1 tablespoon of the agent and 1 teaspoon of ammonium nitrate per 10 liters of water).

You can use organic matter. Here, the source of nitrogen is the infusion of manure, bird droppings, and even grass.

Regardless of the type of fertilizer, after its application, the soil must be mulched. For this, humus, compost, straw or peat are used.
