Cravings for sweets.When we consume sugar, the brain releases dopamine, which makes us feel happy and euphoric. In this regard, simple carbohydrates are very insidious – people who regularly consume them can develop an addiction to sweets.
Mood swings. Blood sugar spikes in those who consume large amounts of carbohydrates negatively affect hormonal balance, which leads to emotional swings – from good moods to severe irritability.
What carbohydrates should we consume? Carbohydrates are an important part of the diet and you cannot completely give them up. However, their quantity should be controlled: the amount of products containing sugar and white flour should be minimal.
“Try using whole grain products instead of flour products – these are complex carbohydrates that are digested more slowly and keep you feeling fuller for longer,” experts advise.
According to experts, good carbohydrates are beans, kidney beans, chickpeas and lentils. These carbohydrate products are rich in folic acid, potassium, magnesium and fiber, can lower blood sugar levels and improve cholesterol levels.
