Healthy mint tea or a refreshing cocktail with aromatic leaves are not all the reasons that encourage summer residents to plant mint in the garden. In addition, mint helps fight mosquitoes, ants, other insect pests, and even rodents.
Plant-repellent
- The simplest remedy that can be used in the country against mosquitoes is mint leaves. It is enough to pluck a couple of fresh leaves and rub its leaves on exposed areas of the body.
- With the help of mint, you can fight against ants, and therefore with their eternal companion – aphids. To do this, it is enough to plant mint in the near-trunk zone of apple, pear or cherry trees, as well as to protect currant plantings.
- In addition to insect pests, mice cannot stand the smell of this plant. It is best to place dried bunches of mint in problem areas. This way you can protect your house from the appearance of rodents. You can also stick bunches of fresh mint into holes left by shrews.
