В in the autumn period, weather conditions can change dramatically, but tree owners need to adapt to them. The main task is the need for moisture-charged irrigation. And for this, you need to know the amount of water that each individual tree needs.
How much water do trees need
Moisturizing irrigation involves one watering, which should fully satisfy the tree's water needs before the cold season. To determine the volume, you need to take into account its size and age. According to garden recommendations, it is recommended to observe the following norms:
- young trees – 40 l;
- adults – from 50 up to 140 l.
Do not pour a large volume of water at once, because it will simply spread on the ground around. Watering is carried out in several stages. Make several grooves or puncture the soil in several places to a depth of 20 to 50 cm. In this way, water will reach the root system area better and faster.
After watering, the tree should be mulched. Peat, straw, dry plant residues or humus are used for this.
