How not to fall into a debt trap: tips for new homeowners

Ukrainians may receive other people's debts for gas if they do not redraw their bills after buying a home. This issue is raised by GazPravda, warning new property owners about possible risks.
Selling or buying a home is a complex process, and many buyers believe that all financial issues are automatically resolved once the agreement is signed. However, practice shows otherwise: new residents often face the fact that they receive payments with debts in the name of previous owners.
This may be the result of banal neglect of personal account renewal. By law, paying into someone else's name does not protect the new owners from being responsible for paying those debts. That is why re-registration is a mandatory step that cannot be ignored.
GazPravda experts stress that such re-registration is important not only from a legal point of view, but also to ensure the financial security of the new owners. To avoid situations where there is a need to pay someone else's debts, it is necessary to contact the gas supplier and confirm that the account now belongs to the new home owner.
In the latest issue of GazPravda, the re-registration process is described in detail and it is explained how buyers can protect yourself from financial losses. In order not to find yourself in a debt trap, the publication advises you to approach this issue carefully and not to delay in completing the relevant documents.
