How to brush your teeth properly to maintain oral health

Most people rinse their mouth with water after brushing their teeth. As it turned out, this is harmful to tooth enamel and gum health.

Dentist Alan Clark explained that toothpaste contains fluoride, a substance that protects tooth enamel from decay. By rinsing it off, we deprive ourselves of additional protection on our teeth.

The doctor also reminded us that teeth should be brushed for two minutes. Many people rush through this simple hygiene routine, especially when they're late for work or want to sleep better. But a good brushing takes just two minutes. You can also floss to remove any food debris.

You should brush your teeth in a circular motion so that the brush can reach every nook and cranny. Dr. Clarke recommends holding the brush at a 45-degree angle to your gums. This will help to clean them more thoroughly.
