How to choose roses that will last a long time in a vase

When receiving or buying flowers, you always want the roses not to crumble the next day and to please the eye as long as possible. To prevent this from happening, you should take a responsible approach to choosing flowers.

Flower shop owners, like any other employees, do not want to work at a loss, so they resort to all sorts of tricks to create the illusion of fresh bouquets.
When buying roses, pay attention to the base of the bud at the point where the stem is attached. In those flowers that have been cut recently, this area will be hard and elastic.
In order for the queen of flowers to please the eye for as long as possible, it is better to buy buds that have bloomed halfway, and they should be dense and fresh.
However, you should not buy buds that are too hard and closed – they can wither without blooming.
Inspect the flower petals as well: refuse those specimens on whose petals you have noticed reddish dots or spots, damage or signs of drying out at the edges.
For this reason, florists try to apply all kinds of sparkles and decor to roses. It is better to say a firm no to overly decorated bouquets.
If the flower is just starting to wilt, the seller may shamelessly remove the upper petals. Therefore, flowers suitable for your bouquet should have fresh, green-tinged upper petals, and the bud should not be too thin.
