How to cook delicious chicken broth

Did you know that properly cooked chicken broth can be not only a base for soups, but also an independent dish that warms you on cold days? But how to make it really tasty and transparent?

Ingredients:

  • chicken (whole or parts) – 1 kg;
  • carrot – 1 pc.;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • celery root – 100 g;
  • bay leaf – 2 pcs.;
  • black peppercorns – 5-6 pcs.;
  • salt to taste.

The chicken is thoroughly washed and placed in a saucepan with cold water. After boiling, the foam is removed so that the broth remains transparent. The carrots and onions are placed whole – this will add a light sweetish tint. Celery root and spices are added closer to the middle of cooking to balance the flavor.

The broth is cooked over low heat for about 1.5-2 hours. The chicken gradually releases its juices, and the vegetables make the flavor rich. The finished broth is strained through a sieve. It keeps well in the refrigerator for several days and will become the basis for soups or stews.
