How to cook melon jam

If you have melons and you can't eat them all, then it is worth making jam from them. It is fragrant, has a beautiful color and will remind you of summer!

To prepare it, you need to take 1 kg of melons cleaned of seeds, 1.2 kg of sugar, 300 g of water.< /p>
Melons should be taken not quite ripe. They must be cut into cubes (2 by 2 cm) and put in boiling water with citric acid (2 g of acid per 1 liter of water).
Blanch for 5-6 minutes. Then cool and pour hot syrup (1.2 kg of sugar per 300 g of water).
Do not boil, but leave to stand for 4-6 hours. After that, bring to a boil and set aside again for 6-8 hours.
And only then bring to a boil, add vanilla sugar, boil over low heat for 5-10 minutes, pour into hot sterilized jars and screw on metal lids .
Make sure to evenly pour the melon pieces into each jar. In winter – as you will find!
