- size of shrimp;
- type of packaging (boiled-frozen, fresh or fresh-frozen);
- peeled and unpeeled.
Most often, you can find boiled-frozen unpeeled shrimp on store shelves. The cooking time for such seafood in boiling water is:
- small size: 1-1.5 minutes;
- medium size: 2-3 minutes;
- large size: 4-5 minutes.
How to cook shrimp
Put a saucepan of water on the fire. The water should be poured twice as much as the shrimp.
Add salt – 1-1.5 tablespoons per liter of water.
You can add spices: bay leaf, allspice and a few slices of lemon.
When the water boils, put the shrimp in the saucepan and cover with a lid. Cooking time depends on the size of the seafood.
If you bought fresh shrimp, small ones should be in boiling water for 5 minutes, large ones for 7-8 minutes.
Pour the cooked seafood into a colander.
How to fry shrimp
Shrimp can be cooked in a saucepan or wok. Pour in a spoonful of vegetable oil and add water so that it covers the bottom by 1-2 centimeters. Heat the pan and add the shrimp. Wait 15 minutes, stirring constantly, and the dish is ready.
