How to cook schnitzel from cabbage and minced meat instead of cabbage rolls

Golubci is a wonderful dish, but it takes a lot of time to prepare: you need to make the filling, steam the cabbage, and wrap each piece. Try making an alternative option – cabbage schnitzel. It is prepared much faster, but in terms of taste it can give a head start to traditional cabbage rolls.

Ingredients

  • cabbage – 1 head;
  • minced meat – 0.5 kg;
  • onion – 150 g;
  • milk – 80 ml;
  • chicken eggs – 3-4 pcs.;
  • flour – 100 g;
  • black pepper, paprika;
  • salt – ½ tsp.;
  • potato starch – 1 tbsp.;
  • breadcrumbs.

Step-by-step preparation

Chop the cabbage into leaves. Twist the onion and meat in a meat grinder. When the minced meat is ready, add the onion chopped in any way. Add salt and paprika to the mixture, pour in the milk. Mix everything thoroughly.

In a container, combine the flour, starch, salt, and pepper. In another, beat the eggs with a fork. Then the schnitzel begins to form. The minced meat is wrapped in cabbage leaves, rolled in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.

All that remains is to fry the schnitzel blanks. 3 minutes on each side until cooked. This dish tastes no worse than cabbage rolls. Delicious!
