How to cook stuffed peppers in tomato sauce

Stuffed peppers are prepared not only in our country. That's what they are called here, and in Turkey, for example, this dish is called dolma. A popular dish with international recognition. If you have never cooked stuffed peppers, it's time to fix that.

Ingredients List

To cook you will need:

  • bell peppers — 12 pcs.;
  • rice — 5 tbsp.;
  • carrot — 1 pc.;
  • onion — 1 pc.;
  • minced chicken — 800 g;
  • garlic — 3 cloves;
  • tomato paste — 4 tbsp.;
  • pure water — 600 ml;
  • sugar — 1 tsp.;
  • salt and ground black pepper;
  • olive or vegetable oil.

How to cook

Rice needs to be washed and put to boil. After boiling, 10 minutes will be enough for it to be 50% ready. Fry carrots and onions in oil together with tomato paste (2 tbsp). Rice and vegetables should cool.

In a bowl, combine rice, minced meat, vegetable stew, chopped garlic, salt and seasonings to taste. Mix the mass thoroughly so that all ingredients are distributed.

Now it's time to prepare the sauce. For it, take: water, tomato paste (2 tbsp), sugar, salt, ground black pepper. Mix all ingredients.

Pepper needs to be cleaned of seeds, but only the top part, the tops, needs to be cut off. Place the prepared filling in the middle. Now it's time to put the peppers in a saucepan, pour the sauce over them and put them to cook. Wait 45 minutes and enjoy the wonderful taste of stuffed peppers. Serve with sour cream. Enjoy!
