How to correctly submit notes in church: rules and recommendations
0
Submitting notes in the church is an important part of the Orthodox service, which requires compliance with certain rules. This helps to correctly express prayers for the health or repose of relatives and loved ones.
Notes “For health” and “For repose”
During church services it is important to submit the notes correctly as this ensures proper prayer for the living and the departed. Notes can be submitted to the liturgy in the church:
- For health: notes are submitted for proscomidy, litany, prayer.
- For repose: for proscomidy, liteny, requiem.< /li>
The prayer “For health” covers not only a request for physical health, but also for the spiritual state and material well-being of a person. In such a note, those to whom health, salvation and happiness are wished are written.
Regarding the prayer “For rest”, it is important to remember that everyone is alive for God. He did not limit our love for our neighbors only to their stay on earth. After death, the possibility of repentance is lost, so it is important to pray for the peace of the souls of deceased relatives and the forgiveness of their sins.
The Church is careful about the interpretation of dreams, but if a deceased person dreams, then one should strengthen the prayer for the repose of his soul, hold a memorial service or pray for him at the liturgy.
What and how to write in the church notes
When submitting church notes, it is important to follow the following rules:
- Write in clear, capital letters
- Be sure to indicate – “For health ” or “For peace”
- Give names in the genitive case (to the question “whom?”)
- Indicate the full Orthodox name, even for children
- Children up to 7 years old are called babies, from 7 to 15 years old – young people.
- Surnames, patronymics, titles, professions, and family ties should not be indicated.
- In notes for the deceased, indicate “newly deceased” (up to 40 days after death), “freshly remembered” (if on this day there is memorable date), “killed”.
Observance of these rules when submitting notes to the temple helps to properly organize a prayer for your loved ones and relatives. The Church pays special attention to the fact that the names prayed for are given clearly and correctly, because this is part of the spiritual support and respect for souls, both living and departed.
Prayer made with faith and sincerity, has great power, and each correct note is a step towards blessing and protection for those whom you mention before God.
What are the services and prayers
- Proscomidy – the first part of the liturgy, when for each name indicated in the note, particles are taken out of the slits, which are later lowered into the Chalice. This prayer has the greatest power.
- Ectenia – names are read after the Gospel, publicly. The deacon performs this commemoration during the liturgy.
- A prayer is a separate service for a certain intention (for example, thanksgiving, to a saint or an icon).
- A memorial service is a separate service for the dead, which is often performed at a specified time.
- Parastas is a special funeral service on Father's Saturdays, which includes parastas on Friday and a memorial service on Saturday.
You can also order the Sorokoust (prayer on proscomidia for 40 days), as well as six-monthly, yearly, five-yearly or eternal commemoration according to the same principle.
