How to deal with falling ovaries on cucumbers

Many gardeners are faced with a situation where they invest effort and time to obtain healthy plants on the site, which should bring a quality harvest. But it happens that expectations do not equal reality. The ovaries can begin to fall off. This can happen for several reasons. Some of them may be unexpected for summer residents.

Reason 1

Cucumbers are a heat-loving crop. Due to a sharp cooling, it can be stressed.

Therefore, it is necessary to prepare shelter for the plants, and mulch the beds. Potassium and phosphorus supplements will also help to survive problems with low temperatures.

At the same time, cucumbers should not be too hot. This will also negatively affect the condition of the ovaries. If the plants are in a greenhouse, ventilation should be arranged.

Optimal temperature: from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Reason 2

Ovaries can also fall off due to a deficiency of potassium and magnesium.

Reason 3

Excess nitrogen is dangerous for plants. They will grow green mass wonderfully, but the harvest will be meager. Therefore, nitrogen fertilizers should be applied carefully.

Reason 4

The crop needs bor. Beginners often forget about this. But it is this element that is responsible for the yield. Once every couple of years, boric fertilizers should be applied in the fall to prepare the soil.

Also, before flowering, it is advisable to spray the bushes with boric acid.

Reason 5

You need to remember about the quality of the soil when growing plants on the site.

Cucumbers like soil with a pH closer to neutral. The crop will also not like the increased salt content in the soil.
