The pest lays eggs in root crops. Then the larvae in the form of worms begin to eat away the root part. The particular danger begins in the spring.

How to get rid of onion flies

In the spring, onion flies emerge. This happens during the period when cherries bloom. If this moment has come, then in a week the flies will begin to lay eggs.

One of the most effective ways to combat it is to spill the beds with salt water. Add 1 cup of salt to 10 liters of water. Spill the onion beds with a solution from a watering can.

Prophylactic treatment should be carried out when the feathers reach a height of 5 cm. Repeat them every 20 days. With such measures, there will be no problems with the pest, and the onions will be healthy until autumn.
