How to fry fish to keep the pan clean

Frying fish is always a challenge, because fish often sticks to the pan and the grease splatters everywhere, leaving a nasty mess. However, there are a few simple tips that will help you cook fish in a way that keeps the pan clean and the dish perfect.

  1. Use a non-stick pan. Non-stick pans significantly reduce the risk of fish burning, and also simplify the cooking process. This will prevent the fish from sticking to the surface.
  2. Dry the fish first. After washing, be sure to dry the fish well with paper towels. Moisture on the fish helps it stick and creates extra steam when frying.
  3. Brush the fish with oil, not the pan. Instead of pouring oil on the pan, brush the fish with a little oil. This will help evenly coat the surface of the fish, preventing it from sticking.
  4. Fry over medium heat. Too high a heat can cause the fat to splatter, so it is best to choose medium heat so that the fish cooks evenly and does not made a mess.
  5. Use baking paper. If you want to completely avoid dirtying the pan, try frying the fish on parchment paper. This will ensure a clean surface of the pan and preserve the texture of the fish.
