Frying fish is always a challenge, because fish often sticks to the pan and the grease splatters everywhere, leaving a nasty mess. However, there are a few simple tips that will help you cook fish in a way that keeps the pan clean and the dish perfect.
- Use a non-stick pan. Non-stick pans significantly reduce the risk of fish burning, and also simplify the cooking process. This will prevent the fish from sticking to the surface.
- Dry the fish first. After washing, be sure to dry the fish well with paper towels. Moisture on the fish helps it stick and creates extra steam when frying.
- Brush the fish with oil, not the pan. Instead of pouring oil on the pan, brush the fish with a little oil. This will help evenly coat the surface of the fish, preventing it from sticking.
- Fry over medium heat. Too high a heat can cause the fat to splatter, so it is best to choose medium heat so that the fish cooks evenly and does not made a mess.
- Use baking paper. If you want to completely avoid dirtying the pan, try frying the fish on parchment paper. This will ensure a clean surface of the pan and preserve the texture of the fish.
