How to grow hyacinths in a pot in winter so that they bloom in March
0
Hyacinths can be grown at home. If you do everything on time, in March there will be fragrant and luxurious flowers that will create a festive mood. Hyacinths should be planted from October to early December. Read more about how to do this in the post.
Choosing bulbs. The size should be at least 17 cm. Take only healthy, dense bulbs, without spots or damage.
Container. Capacity with drainage holes. Pot or container – it does not matter. Drainage: expanded clay or sand. If you want a mini-flowerbed, plant several bulbs at once, but the pot should also be larger.
Agrotechnics. The bulb is buried by ⅔. The top should remain on the surface. Slightly press the soil with the bulb and sprinkle with sand.
Conditions. Take the pot to a cool place. The optimal temperature is +7 degrees. The period is at least 3 months. When a sprout 2.5 cm high is visible, bring it into a room with a temperature of about +12 degrees. Gradually increase to +15 degrees to awaken the plant. And then you can move it to the windowsill.
Watering. During the winter, water sparingly. Literally a few times.
Following the conditions will allow hyacinths to awaken at the right time. If there are changes in the specified conditions, it is possible that they will bloom even earlier than March. This especially applies to the temperature regime, which affects the awakening of hyacinths to growth and flowering.
