Growing green onions on a feather is very simple. Even a child who wants to learn the initial features of gardening can cope with this task. Agronomists told about a method that does not require the use of soil, as well as other substrates in which midges can get into.
How to germinate onions
The most environmentally friendly way is to germinate in sawdust. You can do this as follows. Soak the sawdust. To do this, fill it with water, let it stand for 2 hours, then squeeze it out of the water.
Take 2-3 tablets of activated carbon, crush them and mix them with wet sawdust. This will be a disinfectant. Put the sawdust in a transparent bag.
For germination, take small bulbs with a diameter of 3-5 cm. Cut off a little of the top. You can soak them in a growth stimulator for seedlings.
Place the bulbs on the sawdust. Now blow air into the bag and tie it with a rubber band. Place it in a warm place without light. When the roots sprout, then open the bag and place it on the windowsill. In about 3 weeks, you can harvest juicy green onions.
