Unicef Ukraine shared useful tips.
During the war, even adults cannot cope with emotions, let alone children. All events have such a great impact that mental health can also suffer. For example, you went to another city/country. The child misses family or friends very much. For her, every day is like torture. The child sincerely hopes that dad will return from day to day.
- Follow the daily routine, recreate home traditions or create new ones: joint walks or tea drinking, reading together or watching a movie.
- Suggest the child write a letter or draw a picture for dad.
- Return the child to communication with peers.
- Hug the child if he wants it.
Time, attention, patience and gentle care from loved ones have a healing power for a child.
