How to make cabbage “steak”

A steak from young white cabbage can act as an interesting side dish or an appetizing independent dish. It does not require special skill to prepare it, but such a treat is guaranteed to cause surprise at the festive table.

An important component of this dish, in addition to, of course, cabbage, are spices. Here you should choose your favorite spices: oregano, turmeric, thyme or others. Dried garlic, paprika and pepper must be present.
In addition, you will need butter and olive oil, as well as a little cheese.
A small head of cabbage is best for making a cabbage steak. Cut it into circles, the thickness of which should be approximately 1.5-2 cm.
Lay them out in a baking dish and apply a mixture of 4 tablespoons of olive oil, salt and spices. Put a few pieces of butter on each cabbage circle – focus on your taste.
Send the steaks to an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes. Then take them out, sprinkle with 100 g of grated hard cheese and bake for about another 10 minutes.
A sour cream or mayonnaise sauce will go well with this dish.
