How to make cream cheese like store-bought Philadelphia

Cream cheese is popular in desserts, pancake fillings, and as a spread on sandwiches. However, its price is a bit high, and the composition is not always pleasing, so you can prepare it at home.

The delicate texture, creamy taste and incredible number of variations in combination with other products make it universal in the kitchen of housewives.

Ingredients for 500 g of finished cream cheese:
400 g of natural yogurt (white, without additives)
400 g of full-fat sour cream (over 21% or homemade)
0.5 tsp salt
1 tsp. lemon juice

You need to mix all the ingredients listed above.

Then put a colander on a bowl, on the colander – gauze folded in half or a thin cotton towel, and pour the sour cream mass.

Send to the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, and preferably overnight.

The whey will drain completely and the homemade Philadelphia cream cheese will be ready.
