How to make homemade ketchup that can be used by children

Even if you have already prepared homemade ketchup for the winter , make this recipe as well – for children, because they ask for it so often! Red, thick, sweet, suitable for pasta, sausages, cutlets, and potatoes.
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes – 4 kg
- Apples – 1 kg
- Onions – 0.5 kg
- Sugar – 250 g
- Salt – 1 tbsp. l.
- Black pepper (optional) – 0.5 tsp.
- Apple vinegar – 100 ml
Cut apples, tomatoes , onions and put everything in a deep pot to cook for 1 hour. After that, rub it through a sieve.
Boil the puree for another 1 hour. Add sugar and salt and put on fire for another 30 minutes. At the end, add black pepper and apple cider vinegar and cook for another 5 minutes. To make the ketchup thick without a thickener, cook it uncovered so that excess moisture evaporates.
Pour the ketchup into sterile jars, close the lids and place upside down until completely cool. Children will be satisfied!
