How to make liquid soup thicker

Even when preparing light summer soups, you want them to have a pleasant, dense texture. You won't be able to eat enough with thin soup: on the contrary, such a dish will only increase your hunger. Fortunately, giving the dish the desired texture is very easy.

What products will help with this

Flour with oil

This is a classic way to thicken first courses. First, you need to melt the butter, then add the required amount of wheat flour in neat portions.

At the end, you can add a little milk, mix well so that there are no lumps. Then you can add the resulting additive to the soup.

Yogurt

Of course, we are not talking about a fermented milk product with a sweet filler – this can only spoil the soup. You need to take natural yogurt without flavor.

The product should be slightly warmed up before adding to the soup.

Grated potatoes

This method is great for vegetable soups, as it gives an appetizing density. You just need to grate the root vegetable and add it 5-7 minutes before it is fully cooked.
