How to make ruby ​​strawberry jam

You can be sure that once you serve this jam to the table, your guests will ask for it again and again, and they will definitely ask for the recipe. This is a ruby ​​strawberry and rosehip jam with a delicate floral aroma and original color. It will not leave anyone indifferent.

To prepare, you will need:

  • 1 kg of small strawberries;
  • 200 g of rosehip petals;
  • 1.2 kg of sugar;
  • 1/2 tsp. l. citric acid;
  • 100 ml of water.

How to cook

First, you need to sort and wash the strawberries, remove the stems and leaves.

The clean berries need to be dried on a paper towel, and when ready, transfer the strawberries to a bowl or saucepan and cover with half of the prepared sugar.

In this form, it should spend 5 hours at room temperature.

Now take care of the rosehip petals. If they are collected in your area, whether to wash them or not is up to you. But if you wash them, dry the petals on a paper towel.

After placing them in a bowl, sprinkle them with half of the prepared citric acid, after which you need to lightly rub them with your hands to hear their aroma.

Pour water into a saucepan or bowl, pour in the remaining sugar and cook the mixture over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, then add the remaining citric acid, stir, add the petals and bring to a boil.

Now add the berries with syrup to the petals and bring to a boil, removing the foam, then cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.

Repeat the procedure 2-3 times, then pour the jam into dry sterilized jars, roll up and store in a cool place.
