How to make thin pita bread at home

Preparing thin pita bread at home is much easier than it seems first glance They are soft, tender and can be the basis for many dishes – from shawarma to rolls with fillings.

Ingredients for thin pita bread:

  • 300 g of flour
  • 150 ml of warm water
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

U mix flour and salt in a deep bowl. Gradually add warm water and vegetable oil, kneading the dough. It should be soft and elastic. Cover the dough with a towel and leave for 20 minutes.

Divide the dough into small balls. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin layer, about 2-3 mm thick.

Heat a dry frying pan over medium heat. Fry each pita for 1-2 minutes on each side until small bubbles appear on the surface and the pita takes on a golden hue. .
