Want to enjoy juicy marinated mackerel an hour after cooking? Thanks to the quick marinade, the mackerel absorbs all the necessary aromas and flavors without requiring a long waiting time.
Ingredients for the quick marinade:
- 2 mackerel (fresh or thawed)
- 100 ml apple cider vinegar
- 200 ml water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 onion (for additional flavor)
In a saucepan, mix the water, vinegar, sugar, salt, bay leaf, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Cut the mackerel into pieces and place in a deep bowl with the sliced onion rings. Pour the cooled marinade over the fish.
Cover the fish with a lid or cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour. This will allow the fish to marinate well.
