How to marinate mackerel to eat within an hour

Want to enjoy juicy marinated mackerel an hour after cooking? Thanks to the quick marinade, the mackerel absorbs all the necessary aromas and flavors without requiring a long waiting time.

Ingredients for the quick marinade:

  • 2 mackerel (fresh or thawed)
  • 100 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 200 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 onion (for additional flavor)

In a saucepan, mix the water, vinegar, sugar, salt, bay leaf, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

Cut the mackerel into pieces and place in a deep bowl with the sliced ​​onion rings. Pour the cooled marinade over the fish.

Cover the fish with a lid or cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour. This will allow the fish to marinate well.
