How to paint eggs with beets in a simple way

Natural and bright – a real decoration of the Easter table! How to dye eggs with beets? This is an easy way to use natural vegetable juice. As a result, the eggshell acquires a beautiful burgundy color. The longer you hold the eggs in the juice, the color will be of different intensity.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs – 5 pcs.
  • Beets (large (830 gr.)) – 2 pcs.
  • Vinegar (9%) – 2.5 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

Prepare the necessary products. Eggs with white shells are better.

Make beetroot juice. Wash the beets with a brush or a stiff sponge under running water, cut off the skin. Cut the vegetable into small cubes.

Squeeze the juice from the beets through a juicer. Remove the foam that forms during juicing. If you don't have a juicer, rub the beets on a fine grater or pass them through a meat grinder and squeeze the juice through cheesecloth folded in 2-3 layers. Juicing by hand may require more vegetables. The amount of juice depends on the juiciness of the beet. Aim for the juice to completely cover the eggs when dyeing.

Be sure to wash the eggs before use, as even a seemingly clean shell can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush. Boil the eggs.

Strain the squeezed beetroot juice through a fine sieve. Add vinegar and mix. Dip the boiled eggs into the juice. Color intensity depends on time. The longer the eggs are kept in the juice, the more saturated the shade will be.

For a good, bright color, it will take about 30-35 minutes to dye the eggs. So that the color is not monotonous, turn the eggs over during the dyeing process. As a result, they will have a marble pattern. Remove the colored eggs from the beetroot juice and place on a wire rack. The eggs should be completely dry.

Place the beet-dyed eggs on a plate and serve to the Easter table.

Have a bright and peaceful Easter!
