How to pickle crispy cabbage with apples

If you have a few heads of cabbage and a kilo of apples, why not to marinate them. It will be an ideal preparation for the winter with vitamins and an original taste. Cook and start eating already in autumn.

To prepare, you need 5 kg of cabbage, 1 kg of apples (sour varieties), 0.5 kg of carrots, 0.5 kg of onions, 300 ml of oil, 200 g of sugar, 25 g of salt, 6-8 sweet peppers, 100 ml of vinegar and 1 bay leaf.
The cabbage should be finely chopped, salted and mashed with carrots.
Cut apples into strips, and pepper and onion into small cubes. Combine everything together with the cabbage, mix well, add 200 g of sugar, 25 g of salt, 100 ml of vinegar and 1 bay leaf.
Place in jars, pierce with a stick (for example, for sushi or a long skewer) to allow air to escape and leave open for 48 hours at room temperature.
Periodically poke with a stick to release fermentation gas.
Close the jars with capron lids and store in a cool place .
