How to pickle pears in pieces for the winter

The season of late pears continues, and whoever gathers knows that many are damaged, eaten by worms or pecked by birds. Such fruits do not last long, so you need to think about how to extend their shelf life. Of course, it is best to pickle them for the winter.
Ingredients for pickled pears:
- 1 kg of pears
- 500 ml of water
- 300 g of sugar
- 2 tbsp. l. vinegar (6%)
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 3-4 cloves
Cut the pears into pieces, removing the core. It is not necessary to peel the skin, but it is optional if it is too hard. However, the skin keeps the shape of the pieces better and becomes more tender after marinating.
Prepare the marinade: mix water, sugar, vinegar, cinnamon, and cloves in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Add the pears to the boiling marinade and cook for another 5-7 minutes until soft, but do not overcook so that they do not boil.
Place pears in sterilized jars, pour hot marinade and close.
