How to prepare tap water for watering indoor plants

The easiest way to prepare tap water for watering indoor plants – let the water settle. But in some cases, more radical measures are needed, which not all flower growers know about. We will tell you how to prepare water for irrigation using three little-known methods.

Filtering

If you have a water filter, then the problem is solved. If the device allows you to purify water for the human body, then it is also suitable for flowers. In addition to softening, a standard filter cleans water from oil products, chlorine and other impurities.

And here it is better to use a flow filter.

Acidification

You need to add citric or orthophosphoric acid. But it is important to observe the proportions. This life hack perfectly softens water.

It is enough to add 1 teaspoon of acid to one bucket of water. Then the solution should settle for a day and you can start watering. It is important to exclude sediment from entering the soil.

Freezing

There is an opinion that under the influence of low temperatures, certain chemical compounds disintegrate, some fall into the sediment.

After thawing, the level hardness of melt water, if it does not correspond, then it is as close as possible to normal.

In order to properly freeze water, it is necessary to fill the vessel to 3/4 of the full volume.

Water is defrosted at room temperature temperature, and before watering it should warm up in the same conditions.

Boiling

This option is not suitable for watering home flowers. Part of the chemical compounds evaporates, part precipitates. Some housewives even call boiled water dead.
