Compared to other chrysanthemums, multiflora is considered quite new. With each season, its popularity increases exponentially. This decorative flowering plant is luxurious, which makes it a desirable purchase for decorating the garden, terrace, flower beds and various flower arrangements.
How to store multiflora in winter
The plant needs preparation for winter. Much depends on the climatic conditions of the region. If it is warm, you can leave it in the soil. Otherwise, it will be necessary to take care of its protection.
From September, you need to inspect the plant for the presence of pests and diseases. If problems are detected, the plant must be treated. To increase immunity resistance to cold seasonal conditions, it is recommended to carry out potassium-phosphorus feeding.
If possible, chrysanthemum can be dug up and transplanted for the winter in a greenhouse or in the basement, where the temperature should be – 3°C to + 7 °C. If it remains to winter in the open ground, then mulch. You can not cut the dry cap, it will serve as a shelter.
For multiflora, you can make a shelter from boards that are lined up around the plant and covered with slate and lapis lazuli. This will simultaneously protect against weather conditions, snow and provide ventilation.
Propagation before sending for the winter
Look under the multiflora bush. Regardless of how you grew during the season (pot or soil), there will always be side shoots with roots. They can be separated and planted in 0.5 l pots. By spring, they will become small bushes at home. Then simply transplant them into the open ground.
