How to properly caramelize onions like in a restaurant

Caramelized onions can turn any dish into a restaurant dish. Its sweet taste and rich aroma add new colors to even the simplest dishes. If you haven't tried it yet, you should definitely do it.

Ingredients:

  • onions – 3 pcs.
  • butter – 50 g
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
  • salt – a pinch

Cut the onion into thin half rings so that each piece is evenly baked. Melt the butter in a heated frying pan, add the onion and fry over low heat.

The secret to the taste is not to rush: caramelization is a slow process, and it takes about 20-30 minutes.

When the onion becomes transparent and golden, add sugar and salt. Sugar helps to emphasize the natural sweetness of the vegetable, and butter makes the texture incredibly tender. Ready-made caramelized onions can be added to burgers, pizza, or even salads.
