Did you know that you can make fruit tea yourself , drying ingredients at home? It is not only budget-friendly, but also gives an opportunity to create unique taste combinations. And most importantly, you know for sure that there are no unnecessary chemical additives in your drink!
Interesting fact: dried fruits not only retain their aroma, but also remain rich in antioxidants and vitamins that are good for immunity. For example, a dried lemon or orange adds a powerful dose of vitamin C to tea, as well as a slight sour taste.
Start by preparing the fruit. Apples, pears, lemons, oranges, kiwis, peaches and berries are best for fruit tea. Cut them into thin slices or slices – this will help them dry faster and keep their shape.
Before drying, soak the fruit in a solution of lemon juice and water (1:1) to prevent darkening and keep the bright color. You can dry in the oven at a temperature of 60-70°C with the door slightly open so that moisture can escape. It is even better to use a special dryer for fruits, which will ensure uniform drying.
The drying process takes from 4 to 8 hours, depending on the thickness of the fruit and juiciness. Ready dried fruits should be stored in a sealed container in a dark place. A few pieces of such fruit in a cup of boiling water will turn the water into fragrant and healthy tea.
