Dried tea leaves lose about 97% of their moisture and as a result become susceptible to environmental humidity and odors, the expert says. That is why the worst place to store them is the refrigerator.
An expert spoke about three golden rules for storing tea.
Hermetic containers
Regardless of how the tea is packaged, it should be stored in airtight containers that close tightly. This will keep the leaves from absorbing other smells like spices and seasonings.
A dark place
