How to remove white bloom on the soil in flower pots
0
Growing indoor plants is rarely associated with any difficulties – timely watering, fertilizing. This is where the main troubles end. But sometimes a white bloom appears on the soil in flower pots. This cannot be ignored, because this is a signal from the plant that it needs immediate help.
Main reasons
- A lot of water. A large amount of moisture threatens salt deposits on the soil.
- Not enough water. Mineral deposits remain when plants are not watered enough. So you need to find a middle ground.
- Poor drainage or lack of it.
- Unsettled water. Hard liquid forms limescale.
- Dry air in the room is the cause of intensive evaporation of moisture and salinization of the soil.
- A lot of fertilizers. The root system does not have time to absorb minerals.
How to remove white bloom
- First, remove all problematic soil from the pot, which reaches a depth of 2-2.5 cm.
- Clean the walls of the pot from white bloom. This is done using the abrasive side of a dishwashing sponge or brush.
- Add fresh soil.
- Change the watering regime, using only soft, settled water.
- Dense soil requires regular loosening, and the formation of a soil crust must not be allowed.
