How to replace butter and margarine in baking to make it healthier

Cakes and desserts are mostly quite high in calories. And sooner or later, every housewife asks the question: “Is it possible to replace fat in baking with something?” Indeed, the calorie content of baking and desserts can be reduced. Such baking will be healthier.
Half of the butter in the recipe can be replaced without significant loss to the final result. For this purpose, fruit puree can be added instead of butter. As a result of such a replacement, the texture of the baking will become more like a sponge cake, the muffins will become denser. But at the same time, the calorie content of the dish will decrease noticeably.
A good substitute is fruit puree for baby food without sugar or homemade puree. The proportion of such a replacement is very simple: 100 g of butter or vegetable oil is replaced with 100 g of fruit puree. Apple puree is best suited for baking cakes, and pumpkin puree is best suited for baking yeast buns, spice bread, cakes, pancakes, muffins.
How to make apple and pumpkin puree:
For work, we will need: 3 apples, water, knife, blender, saucepan, cutting board.
- Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces.
- Put the apples in a saucepan and add a small amount of water (approximately 1 tablespoon per 1 apple).
- Put on low heat, cover and cook until soft. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
- Crush the prepared apples with a blender. The applesauce is ready.
Similarly, pumpkin puree can be used to replace fat.
To work, we will need: a saucepan, a knife, a cutting board, a blender, a pumpkin, water.
- Peel the pumpkin from the seeds and internal fibers, remove the skin. Cut into small cubes.
- Place the prepared pumpkin (150 grams) in a saucepan and add a small amount of boiling water (3 tbsp. l.)
- Cook over low heat under the lid until cooked. This will take from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the pumpkin variety. The pumpkin is ready when it easily crumbles when pressed.
- Put the pumpkin cubes without water into a blender and puree until smooth.
Put into jars. Cool. Cover and refrigerate. Use within 2-3 days if necessary.
