How to replace yeast in baking

Refusal of yeast dough can be caused by a number of reasons. For example, people on a diet, as well as supporters of proper nutrition, do not consume products made from yeast dough. However, this component can also be used to give the dough an airy shape.

To make the dough fluffy, many people use regular baking soda.

You can replace yeast with white baking powder in pastries with high acidity of the dough – that is, one prepared with kefir, whey or sour milk.

If the dough is for making ciabatta or fresh rolls (it is based on water or milk), the soda must be “extinguished” using vinegar or lemon juice. Recall that it is recommended to add soda last of all the ingredients.

It is worth noting right away that the structure and taste of bread or cake prepared using soda will differ from yeast-based pastries.

Another replacement for yeast in the dough is baking powder. It is customary to mix it with flour before adding it to the container with the dough.
