How often do you hear the phrase “I feel sick”? This phrase conveys a feeling of discomfort or awkwardness.
This expression is firmly rooted in our language, although it is of Russian origin. How to convey the feeling of discomfort or awkwardness without this tracing paper?
Avramenko said that it is correct to convey in Ukrainian the feeling of discomfort, often expressed with the phrase “not myself” and suggested using the words “awkwardly” and “embarrassed”.
For example, you can say: “I was embarrassed because of a sharp remark” or “I became embarrassed because of the clumsy behavior of a colleague”.
